I started with three 10 X 4 foot raised beds 22" high. I had hips replaced and it was easy to reach that height with plenty of room for fresh greens and other small vegetables. Overtime, this grew to 15 raised beds of various sizes and heights. We are able to produce nearly all our vegetables requirements for the entire year. Last year we canned 312 jars of fruits and vegetables. This year already over 200. I used 2 X 10, 12, and 8 inch planks (treated) on the beds. Deck screws were used to fasten together. I used 2 X 4 pieces on the inside corners to stabilize. This allows for intense gardening, less weeding, and very high production. After decades of row gardening, I will NEVER use any method but raised beds.
