About Us / Live Oaks Goat Dairy History: I "curated" Nigerian Dwarf goats for a zoo, nearly three decades ago. Then we got into Cashmere goats. When we moved to Florida, we had to trade them for dairy goats because of the heat down here. So we have Nubians, Saanens, Alpines, and Mini-Nubians!
I love my goats, and we work hard to keep them healthy and happy.
High points: earning Grade A Milk Production Facility. Hitting 3 gallons a day. Sitting in the field, watching my girls act like happy goats.
Low points: ANY time a goat gets sick!
We work with any FFA or 4H kids that are interested in dairy (or meat) goats, hoping to grow the industry. There is still plenty of room in the world for goat milk and goat milk products. We're still importing well over half a million goat carcasses per year to meet the needs of Americans. Lots of room for growth! I'm not a political animal, but I do occasionally write letters, and I rant a lot on Facebook.
